Finally, my current project. I treated myself to the hand-stitch versions of the new Nordic Majesty set over at Urban Threads. I love the designs they’ve made, and I wanted to try my hand at the one with the ravens, in particular.

Even More Embroidery
I’m really pleased with how this one came out. Shisha embroidery (the technique for fixing mirrors to embroidered work) is a favourite of mine - really satisfying, easy and gives great results. This has a nice Spring Equinox/Ostara vibe to it. Another one I think might make a nice centre-piece for a cushion cover.
Again, it’s not perfect. My stitching isn’t that neat...

Something has happened in my fortress.
I had four known vampires - three safely burrowed away in the vampire pit and a fourth still incapacitated in the hospital following his beating, received for draining a dwarf in full view of several others.

It’s official. Pickled carrot sticks are apparently edible crack. Not only do they look very pretty stacked in jars alongside my red onion chutney, pickled sugarsnap peas and preserved lemons, but the combination of vinegar and dill and the carroty crunch is far too addictive.
I may need to purchase another kilo of carrots soon.

Ye gods, the young gay Catholic kid on 10-o-clock Live for the gay marriage debate.
